Design for Manufacturing and Assembly(DfMA)is the design process that focuses on the ease of off-site manufacturing and efficiency of on-site assembly. The Specialist Certificate programme is tailor-made for Hong Kong construction practitioners and co-organized by School of Professional Development in Construction(SPDC)of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction(HKIC)and the Building and Construction Authority(BCA)Academy in Singapore, which aims to equip professionals in the construction industry with essential knowledge and technical skills to apply DfMA principles in construction projects in order to achieve higher construction productivity in Hong Kong.
It is a 9-day full-time intensive training course, which will be delivered in the BCA Academy campus in Singapore. It draws on the best practices from industry practitioners and leading research from academics. Through various lectures, case studies, site visits and integrated group projects, participants will learn how to apply lean thinking principles and digital delivery in a real world context to streamline work processes and collaborate with other stakeholders in construction projects.

Admission Requirements:
Construction management professionals/practitioners in the field of construction with background as project manager, consultant and clerk of works preferred etc.; and
At least 5 years of working experience in the construction industry or related fields.
