1. What are the entry requirements?

The requirements are simple and accommodating. Any subcontractors who have completed at least one job within the last five years as a main contractor or subcontractor, or have acquired comparable experience in the industry will be eligible to register. Listing on one or more relevant government registration schemes will also suffice. Besides, registration may also apply through the recognized personal qualification of proprietor, partner, director, of the applicant. For details, please refer to the Rules and Procedures (Part 2).

2. What information and documents are required for registration?

Apart from basic information about the company and its senior staff, applicants will be required to provide evidence to verify their experience or qualifications. These may include Certified Extracts of Information on Business Register (Form IRBR 152) issued by the Inland Revenue Department, Annual Return for incorporated companies, certification of satisfactory project completion and approval for registration granted by the relevant policy bureaux or government departments.

3. When is a registration due for renewal?

A registration is due for renewal every two years. An application for renewal should be submitted within three months before expiry of the current registration by providing information and supporting documents to show continued compliance with the entry requirements.

4. How to apply for inclusion of additional trades?

A subcontractor may apply at any time for inclusion of additional trades in his registration, subject to the availability of supporting information and documents as well as the cheque payment.

5. What are the fees and charges?

A subcontractor who applies for first-time registration or renewal of his registration will be required to pay the amount of fees according to the Rules and Procedures (Schedule 5).

6. In what circumstances will regulatory actions be invoked?

To maintain credibility and integrity of the Scheme, regulatory actions will be taken against registered subcontractors for misconducts. For details, please refer to the Rules and Procedures (Part 3).
