Plumbing Contractor Cooperative Training Scheme

Plumbing Contractor Cooperative Training Scheme is a “First-hire-then-train” scheme. The applicant will be given an employment offer by a member of Plumbing Association before receiving fundamental training. This part of training will be conducted either at CIC or at a designated training institution for a period of 60 days. After that, he will go through the on-site training for a period of 90 days, on-job training as well as employment.

During the training period, the trainees will have steady and attractive income and then he will have a well-experienced coach during the on-site training. During the fundamental training and the on-site training periods, the trainee will be given a HK$270 allowance per day. During the on-site training period, allowance and salary will be given by employer and is determined at reference market rate. Trainee will receive an extra HK$12,000 bonus allowance at maximum if he/she completed the whole training and passed the relevant assessment. All the allowance and salary are calculated based on the attendance.

Mode of Training

The overall duration of fundamental and on-site training is 150 days.

Entrance Requirement

  1. Aged 18 or above, physically fit for training and determine to pursue a career in Construction Industry; and
  2. For those who have not taken CIC’s Enhanced Construction Manpower Training Scheme (ECMTS)/Manpower Shortage Work Trade or other full time training courses offered by the CIC or another training bodies funded by the CIC within one year after graduation; or
  3. For those who have not taken CIC’s Technician programmes within two years after graduation.

Members of Plumbing Association may have other requirements.
