Operator of Builder's Lift

CERTIFICATION COURSE WITH IMBEDDED CERTIFICATION TEST FOR OPERATOR OF BUILDER'S LIFT

Introduction

From 1996, in response to the introduction of the requirement of competent operators on Builder's Lifts stipulated under the Builders' Lifts and Tower Working Platform (Safety) Ordinance by the Electriical and Mechanical Services Department, the Construction Industry Council (previously the C-I-T-A) has been conducting the Certification Course for Operator of Builders' Lift.

Format of Certification Course, Test format and Test Fee

The Certification Test is divided into three parts :

Part 1 - A Theoretical and Practical Training
To enhance and consolidate the candidates' knowledge about Builder's Lift and its safe operation.
Part 2 - A Written Test
To test the candidates' general knowledge on a Builder's Lift functions and operation, with emphasis on machine operation and safety.
Part 3 - A Practical Test
To test the candidates' skill and effectiveness in operating the Builder's Lift.

Candidate must take all three parts of the course in the specified period.

    Duration(Course and Test) Fee(HK$)  
1 Certification Course for Operator of Builder's Lift Two-day $800 *
2 Re-validation Course for Operator of Builder's Lift(commenced in 2001) One-day $400 *
Anticipated Trade Test Waiting Time
* Waiting time would be around one to two months approximately
# Waiting time would be around three to four months approximately
@ Waiting time would be around five to six months approximately
& Waiting time would be more than six months approximately
