RMAA being one of the vital pillars of the construction process, via Worker Training, Promotion & Education, Standardisation and Supervision Matters, CIC aims to train high quality and safety-minded workers and improve industry and public standards for the long term development of the industry.

To address the multi-skilled needs of the industry, CIC launched a RMAA ITCTS in collaboration with companies to provide trainees with on-site training under Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC)’s supervision. Trainees are recruited on a first-hire-then-train basis and will be trained in accordance to the same syllabus as the Certificate in Repair, Maintenance, Alterations and Additions (Building Construction / Electrical & Mechanical). Successful applicants will be able to receive subsidy for both the employers and trainees.

To elevate the safety and quality of works of the RMAA industry, HKIC provides a Certificate in RMAA (Building Construction) course. Students will be able to develop their skills commonly found in Builder RMAA works such as wet trades, painting, joinery, plumbing and metal works, as well as enhanced safety and customer service training.

Students will be able to develop their skills commonly found in E&M RMAA works such as electrical installation, air conditioning & refrigeration, fire service system & equipment and plumbing works, as well as enhanced safety and customer service training.
The Registered Specialist Trade Contractors Scheme (the Scheme) was an industry-wide driven and recognised registration scheme in Hong Kong for specialist trade contractors established by the CIC. The Scheme comprises Register of Specialist Trade Contractors of 20 designated trades, including Building Maintenance and Interior Fitting-out, and Register of Subcontractors of general civil, building and electrical and mechanical trades.
