As an initiative to attract students’ interest in construction and support to STEAM education, the Construction Industry Council launched the “MiC: Maximise Infinite Creativity” Mini-Building Model Competition during summer to ignite creativity among secondary school students. Professional trainings on MiC and related technology (e.g. Building Information Modelling; BIM) was provided to students for their creation of their mini-building model. 150 students forming 45 teams participated in the competition’s two categories, namely “Senior” and “Junior”.
Submitted models was evaluated base on creativity, use of environmentally friendly materials, practicality, sustainability concept, aesthetic etc. Winners were presented their award certificates during the Soft Opening Ceremony of Construction Month 2021 while 14 outstanding models are now exhibited in the CIC-ZCP. This is aspired to promote Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) among the industry as well as the public, and garner support for the advancement in MiC technologies.
