Cancellation of Tests on Multi-media Self-learning Package for Mandatory Basic Safety Training Courses (Construction Work) and Mandatory Basic Safety Training Revalidation Courses (Construction Work)

Cancellation of Tests on Multi-media Self-learning Package for Mandatory Basic Safety Training Courses (Construction Work) and Mandatory Basic Safety Training Revalidation Courses (Construction Work)

The Labour Department recognised the former Construction Industry Training Academy to provide multi-media self-learning packages for the Mandatory Basic Safety Training Course (Construction Work) and Mandatory Basic Safety Training Revalidation Course (Construction Work) for professionals and management in construction industry.  Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (also known as "Green Card") will be issued or renewed after the relevant individual completed the self-learning package and obtained a pass in test.

To further enhance the quality of safety training and meet the requirements in the Guidance Notes on Application for Recognition of Mandatory Safety Training Courses, the multi-media self-learning packages for the Mandatory Basic Safety Training Courses (Construction Work) and Mandatory Basic Safety Training Revalidation Courses (Construction Work) are now cancelled.  Professionals and management in construction industry can attend relevant courses in person and obtain the qualification from course providers recognised by the Labour Department.

Taking effect on 5 October 2015, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) will not accept applications of the multi-media self-learning package, and will not recognise the relevant test results.  The CIC will either provide free courses or refund to applicants as soon as practicable.
