Trade Test for Grade A Electrical Work

The Hong Kong Construction Industry Trade Testing Centre (HKCITTC) endeavors to offer trade testing services for the construction industry. In December 2020, the HKCITTC newly introduced the “Trade Test for Grade A Electrical Work”, which serves to assess candidates’ skills level and knowledge towards safe work practices of electrical work and its relevant area. Worker who successfully passed the trade test, with the relevant qualifications and experiences, could apply to register as the “Grade A Electrical Worker” * with the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) based on the Trade Test Certificate issued by the CIC.

By introduction of the above-mentioned trade test, the HKCITTC aims to provide a career progression path for electrical work practitioners,such that they could obtain recognised qualifications based on their work experience and solid skills, thereby further enhancing their professional status, as well as to facillitate the industry to select and employ skilled workers.
