Enrichment programme offered by Construction Industry Council (32 days for 2 years)

Target Participants

Trainees are required to fulfill the following requirements:

Fresh graduates of the one-year Certificate in Construction Programme offered by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction or Fresh graduates of the one-year Diploma in Construction Programme or graduates of individual short courses offered by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction; and
Graduates who are not continuing the Vocational Training Council programmes.

Applicable to graduates of the following Hong Kong Institute of Construction Programmes:

Bricklaying & Plastering Bricklaying & Tiling Painting & Decoration Joinery Electrical Fitter Plant Maintenance & Repairs Plumbing	Painting & Decoration Bricklaying, Plastering & Tiling Joinery Metalworks & Welding Bar-Bending & Fixing	Bar-Bending & Fixing Formwork Levelling Metalworks Welding

Monthly Salary of Trainees Not Less Than (Subject to Different Trades)

First Year: $15,000 or $24,500
(Council subsidies employers $5,000 monthly as allowance to trainees)

Second Year: $20,000 or $26,500
(Council subsidies employers $6,000 monthly as allowance to trainees)

Bonus Scheme

Interim Bonus
If a trainee performs satisfactorily in the first year and passes the interim assessment, a bonus of HK$20,000 will be issued to the trainee.
Completion Bonus
If a trainee performs satisfactorily throughout the entire programme period and passes the final skill assessment, a completion bonus of HK$30,000 will be issued to the trainee.

Employer Eligibility

Main Contractors or Sub-contractors under the Sub-contractors Registration Scheme or Owners of refurbishment, repair and maintenance projects or new projects

Trainee aged under 19 entering into designated trades specified by the Apprenticeship Ordinance should register the apprenticeship contract at the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship of the Vocational Training Council.
