ZCP Easter STEAM Fiesta

The popular ZCP Easter STEAM activity returns! CIC-Zero Carbon Park (CIC-ZCP) strives to promote the development of STEAM education as well as enhancing the awareness of advanced construction technologies and sustainable development among the young generation. This year, CIC-ZCP is hosting the "ZCP Easter STEAM Fiesta" during Easter. The carnival seeks to foster creativity and multidimensional thinking, inspiring the next generation's interest in low-carbon living and sustainable development, and enjoy a "carbon neutrality" journey through inventive and enjoyable STEAM and green carbon reduction experiential games and activities.

The carnival will feature a diverse range of booth games incorporating various topics ranging from scientific principles, environmental knowledge, construction industry to robotics programming to strengthen the public understanding of low-carbon energy, construction safety, etc. The event has invited Kwun Tong Recycling Station to set up an information booth on Municipal Solid Waste Charging Scheme and environmental booth game, allowing the public to better prepare for their daily lives. Additionally, Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) will host interactive experiential game to promote the concept of digital inclusiveness, fostering a diverse and inclusive society.

Exciting activities include several "STEAM X Construction Green Workshops" and “STEAM ZCP Egg Hunting Adventure" Education Day Camps. The workshops cover Easter Egg Painting, constructing STEAM engineering models, plant pot painting, etc, integrating STEAM and green elements from several perspectives. A limited quota for each workshop will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis on the event day.

STEAM x Construction Green Workshops Schedule

To enjoy a unique egg-hunting STEAM experience, the "STEAM ZCP Egg Hunt Adventure" educational day camp explains the STEAM principles from different perspectives and offers engaging experience in STEAM Lab as well as creating personalised scientific models. The day camp aims to help participants to ignite their interest in construction technology and equip themselves with STEAM knowledge.

A must-go photo taking spot: Constructing the beauty of glass

CIC-ZCP has unveiled a captivating new art installation that utilises a stunning array of vibrant glasses, the installation is prominently composed of the initials of “Zero Carbon Park”. Sunlight is refracted from several angles when the glass artwork is being created, symbolising the diversity of the glass product after recycling. Glass is a completely recyclable and reusable building resource that may be repurposed to create eco-friendly bricks and other construction materials, which related with Easter’s theme of rebirth. Located at the Grassland, the installation promotes the environmental benefits of glass to showcase the charisma of sustainable construction, encouraging the public to contemplate the fusion of environmental protection and aesthetics. The artwork on the glassed specifically incorporate design elements inspired by construction industry including green buildings to further advocate the importance of green buildings and sustainable development for a greener future.
