CIC-ZCP proudly presents the upcycled Easter bunny artwork installation, crafted from marine waste (such as single-used plastics, discarded fishing nets, styrofoam, and sea glass). This transforming of waste into artistic materials highlights the brilliance and fragility of marine ecosystems. The bunny-shaped design symbolises new life at Easter, adorned with vibrant colours and sparkling decorations to share the joy of the festival, while also prompting the public to reflect deeply on marine pollution.
The inspiration for this secondary creation stems from the life and cycles of nature, expressing the relationship between the environment and sustainability in a humorous and engaging way. It symbolically showcases environmental consciousness. The recycled materials used in the artwork urge the public to reconsider their daily lives and consumption patterns. Through this artwork, artist Tree LEUNG hopes to draw more attention to environmental conservation and sustainable development, inspiring positive action to collectively safeguard our zero-carbon future.
Special credit to Y · PARK for providing discarded recycled peach blossoms, which enhance the artwork and remind us of the diverse possibilities of recycled materials.
